So we got up at 5 am today so we could leave Phoenix for San Diego at 7:30, and even though it was really freaking early and made it necessary for me to take a nap around 10 am, it was SO much better to take a one hour flight than to drive 8 hours haha. It was also fun since I hadn’t been on a plane in at least 8 or 9 years.

We went to Benihana today and it was ridiculously yummy. I had never been there before, but I had been to one other teppanyaki (I’ve also had a yearning to go since the Benihana Christmas episode of The Office). I love how the chefs have to be such entertainers along with everything else. We went to really good Mexican place for dinner too and it ended up that we had Calimari for lunch and dinner, which I think I could do everyday for the rest of my life :) We met up with our family friend that is getting married tomorrow (that’s why we are here). I hope it all works out. Marriage is such a complicated thing. I guess more relationships in general.

Speaking of relationships, my sister was texting me again today to find out what her ex had been texting me about and it kind of ended up with the two of us in a texting fight (which is super lame if you ask me). She can have all the opinions she wants, but if I have one it’s a huge freaking deal. I tried to explain to her that I believe that how a person treats his friends is a big indicator of who he really is (aka “best friends” don’t move in on each other’s girlfriends). Sorry if this is confusing, but I feel bad putting up too many details. I just wish I wasn’t stuck in the middle. Because of it my sister thinks I hate her… but I guess that’s her opinion : P

But back to my trip, my parents and I walked around the beach for a while today, and I decided that as much as I would hate living in California, I could DEFINITELY get a summer house here haha. It was so nice out and I feel that if I lived here, especially if I were rich and could afford a house really close to the beach, I’d get so much more exercise!! Just walking on the beach was so nice, and at the time I really wished I had a bathing suit so I could enjoy it more…..

… then I went to Target and tried on bathing suits and decided it is the most horrible way to torture a woman. Even when I was at my thinnest, shopping for swim suits was the worst thing ever! No matter how skinny you are, they just point out your flaws (real or imagined). So after embarrassing myself in front of myself, I bought a swim suit I wasn’t happy with (but that would work) and we got back to the hotel and didn’t even go down to the pool. So the torture was all in vain…. Well, maybe if I allow the thoughts of those horrible bathing suits to energize and motivate me to get the gym, it will have been worthwhile.

Instead of going down to the pool, my parents both passed out around 9. So here I sit, in this hotel room with crappy (and too few) outlets, writing my blog and watching Hot Fuzz. I love this movie!! My dad got sucked into watching Man of the Year earlier and we stayed for two hours in our hotel room watching it haha. It was good, but not 2-hours-out-of-our-vacation-good. But now Hot Fuzz is on, which I have only seen once, but I love!! My ex-brother-in-law told me about it, and since I’ve never seen Shaun of the Dead, I had no idea what to expect, but it’s amazing.

Well, since tomorrow is the wedding and I have to help my parents cook all day and I’ve been up since 5 am, I’m going to go ahead and go to bed! Hope everyone’s having a good start of the weekend!

καληνύχτα – aka Goodnite!
